This program is targeted to West Virginia health care providers and ancillary staff, espically those working in Emergency Departments. The objectives are:
- Understand what compassion fatigue is and your level of risk.
- Understand and prepare for personal reactions you may experience when working with individuals who are not yet in recovery or are in early stages of recovery, including individuals with HIV.
- Understand the difference between compassion fatigue and burnout.
- Learn about and identify coping strategies.
- Learn about relevant resources.
With completion of required evaluations CME, CNE, and Social Work continuing education credits will be available.
