Session title: Webside Manner & Remote Relationships: Interprofessional Insights on Advance Care Planning in the Era of COVID 19
As COVID 19 continues to unfold, all inter-professional disciplines are having to pivot their practices and approaches to adapt to online platforms. However, this migration to increasingly virtual encounters necessitates new skill-building around rapport building; conducting comprehensive assessments; gauging risk; interprofessional collaboration; and adhering to ethical core tenets (i.e. consent, confidentiality etc.). These contextual factors add a unique layer of complexity to the advance care planning process. In this webinar, our inter-professional panel will take a deeper dive into this subject, will discuss best practices for advance care planning, and will provide emergent tools for these critical virtual consultations.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Define a working knowledge of webside manner and virtual rapport building.
- Discuss key ethical considerations (i.e. consent, confidentiality etc.) in case conceptualization and case intervention.
- Describe the progression and life-cycle of a virtual advance care planning consultation.
- Identify and discuss how to apply emerging remote tools and techniques to virtual advance care planning consultations.
This session is a continuation of the Advance Care Planning session of 5/27/20 but you do not need to have attended the first session in order to attend this one.
