The MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center, West Virginia Regional Partner's mission is to increase providers' capacity to provide high quality HIV/AIDS care within our health care systems. This program will provide information on HIV
Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Discuss HIV discovery, history of HIV treatment development, and HIV epidemiology
- Compare modes of HIV transmission and prevention options
- Describe pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) medication and how it can be prescribed for patients at risk for HIV infection
- Describe post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and doxy PEP medications and their uses
- Present general guidance for medication options, eligibility, and other considerations
