The International Stigma Conference intends to promote the awareness and reduction of the internalized stigmatization of all types of oppression, especially those related to stigmatized health conditions such as HIV, Mental Health, Sickle Cell, and Substance Use. This year's theme is, "Stigma No More...It's 2024!" As part of its collaboration with the Internalized Stigma Interest Group, the MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center-Howard University Local Partner Site is hosting a discussion entitled, "Promoting Health Equity to Reduce Stigma."
At the conclusion of the presentation attendees will be able to:
- Identify ways stigma and discrimination surface in HIV service provision
- Define Health Equity in HIV Service provision
- Apply interventions that promote resilience and greater health outcomes for consumers
