This presentation will use case studies to review the 6 P’s of sexual history taking and identify patient-centered and non-stigmatizing approaches for obtaining a sexual health history, discussing HIV risk reduction, and counseling patients on PrEP.

Objectives:

• Describe best practices in obtaining a patient-centered sexual health history.
• Describe how PrEP may be incorporated as one possible element of a safer sex and HIV prevention toolbox.
• Identify non-stigmatizing approaches to discussing PrEP use with patients, including dispelling of common myths.
