During this session, we will:
- Review Hepatitis B global and local prevalence, modes of transmission, and populations at risk
- Review the signs and symptoms of acute and chronic Hepatitis B infection
- Discuss diagnosis of Hepatitis B infection
- Review the Natural History and Progression of Hepatitis B infection
- Discuss current treatment options, including antiviral therapies, and criteria for initiating treatment
- Discuss vaccination, screening, and other preventive measures to reduce the spread of hepatitis B
- Identify potential complications such as cirrhosis, liver failure, and hepatocellular carcinoma
- Learn effective strategies for educating patients about hepatitis B
At the end of the program, attendees will:
- Understand Hepatitis B Epidemiology
- Identify Clinical Features of Hepatitis B infection
- Learn about the various diagnostic tests used to detect hepatitis B, including serological and molecular tests
- Understand the natural course of hepatitis B infection and factors influencing disease progression
- Learn about Hepatitis B treatment options and criteria for treatment
- Understand Hepatitis B prevention strategies
- Identify Hepatitis B complications and comorbidities
- Be able to educate and counsel patients about Hepatitis B
