This in-person conference will focus on the interprofessional aspects of Social Work Advocacy and Ethics – two areas important to the role Social Workers play on interdisciplinary treatment teams across the city, state and country.  Presentations will facilitate discussions around advocacy for improved access to HIV treatment and prevention.  In addition to offering a cutting edge, evidence-based educational opportunity for Social Workers, Nurses and Clinicians, the conference will offer a robust networking opportunity to foster new partnerships and collaborations across disciplines.  This Social Work guided conference will host speakers from multiple disciplines and will offer CEUs for both Social Workers and nurses.  

The objectives of the conference are to:   1.  Discuss the impact that health disparities have on access to quality HIV care,  2.  Identify strategies for interdisciplinary providers to reduce health disparities in marginalized populations with Social Work as the driving force for these strategies, 3.  Highlight the vital role of Social Work, Nursing, Clinical Providers and Community Health Workers in advocacy and access to care. 4.  Explore and discuss ways to balance ethical principles of practice with patient engagement and retention in care.

Anyone working in the HIV field with emphasis on Social Workers, RNs/NP's, Clinicians, Community Health Workers, and Peer Advocates.  CEUs for RNs and Social Workers (including 3 ETHICS CUEs)
