In this course Dr. Melissa Whitman will discuss ART, rapid start, and HIV care management in primary care settings. As well as the importance of healthcare maintenance and adherence for patients with HIV. This course highlights evolving areas of research including lipid management and HIV and aging.
Course Objectives:
1. Review the basic principles of ART including rapid start for people newly diagnosed with HIV.
2. Discuss how non-Infectious Disease providers can promote adherence and keep patients engaged in care.
3. Learn about important healthcare maintenance considerations including immunization recommendations, cancer screening, and comorbidities management.
4. Highlight evolving areas of research including lipid management and HIV and aging.
