This program provides an overview of important topics in HIV care, focused towards healthcare providers in WV including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Physicians.
Objectives:
- Discuss the role of HIV treatment in ending the epidemic.
- Provide information on current first line agents for HIV treatment and discuss recent advances in HIV therapeutics, including long-active injectable medications.
- Describe the concept of “Rapid Start” and discuss clinical care considerations for individuals living in rural areas.
The MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center, West Virginia Regional Partner's mission is to increase providers' capacity to provide high quality HIV/AIDS care within our health care systems. Changes occur rapidly in the HIV/AIDS arena and all interested health care professionals should seek yearly updates to stay current.
