Session 3: Managing HIV in Hospitalized Patients

By the end of this session, the learner will be able to:

  1. Discuss key considerations for inpatient clinical management of people with HIV.
  2. Discuss key components in medical assessment of a person newly diagnosed with HIV in an inpatient setting. 
  3. Examine current guidelines for ART in naïve patients and discuss important drug-drug interactions with antiretrovirals (ARVs) in hospital settings.
  4. Discuss the importance of discharge planning.
  5. Discuss when to refer or obtain consultation from MAAETC Clinicians or the National Clinician Consultation Center (NCCC).

Session 4: Linkage to Care and Community Resources for People with HIV
June 5th, 2025; 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EST

  3. Review case studies that demonstrate successful linkage to support services for persons with HIV.
